About Complementary Shaders Unbound and Its Visual Style Options
Complementary Shaders is a high-performance shader pack for Minecraft Java Edition, known for its meticulous attention to detail, quality, and optimization. It includes a wide range of visual effects, two default style choices, custom effects for nearly every block, and performance profiles from Potato to Ultra, all designed not to hinder gameplay. Originally an edit of BSL Shaders in 2018, the pack has undergone numerous major updates, including a full rewrite to meet community expectations. Development is driven by user feedback, and the pack continues to receive regular updates.
The pack offers two distinct visual styles, differing only in default settings. The Unbound style targets players seeking a more realistic look. The Reimagined style reimagines Minecraft while keeping its iconic visual identity unchanged. All settings can be customized after download; for example, you can enable blocky clouds in Unbound or realistic water in Reimagined. Every configuration option is accessible via Shader Options in-game.

Installation Guide for Complementary Shaders Unboud
Quick option: Download the Complementary Installer and run it. It will handle the entire setup automatically.
Manual installation steps:
- Install the Iris mod to enable shader support.
- Launch Minecraft and open Video Settings > Shaderpacks/Shaders.
- Click the Open Shaderpack Folder button.
- Download Complementary Shaders and place the ZIP file into the opened folder. Do not unzip the file.
- Return to the game, select Complementary from the shaderpack list (refresh the menu if it does not appear), and then click Done.
